Hello! I’m Dr. René Dodd your local family chiropractor. I grew up in Marietta and graduated from Sprayberry High School. My introduction to chiropractic began while in high school. I played softball since I was a little girl and suddenly began having extreme low back pain. I was unable to swing a bat, lie in bed, or sit comfortably in class. One of my mother’s friends suggested she take me to a chiropractor. I had never heard the word before. We went to a local chiropractor and within a week my pain was gone. Unfortunately, I did not understand the concept of chiropractic and as soon as the pain was gone, I discontinued care. This led to more serious problems later in life. Chiropractic is not about getting rid of pain; it is about allowing the body’s nervous system to function at its optimum. This allows your body to perform at its best.
After high school, I attended the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. While in college, I experienced a reoccurrence of low back pain, along with headaches, emotional distress, and digestive issues. I started taking medications for my ailments but was only experiencing mild relief. One day after graduation, divine intervention stepped in and put another chiropractor in my life. He explained to me, “The power that made the body heals the body; the body needs no help, just no interference. The job of a chiropractor is to remove interference within the body so that it can function with all the amazement and wonder with which it is capable.”
These truths resonated so deeply with me that I immediately signed up to tour Life University in Marietta, Georgia. Within three months, I began my chiropractic education. While in school, I started receiving regular chiropractic care and began to feel the best I ever had. My headaches and low back pain decreased significantly, and I honestly can’t remember the last time I had a migraine. My anxiety, depression, and digestive issues disappeared. I have an increase in energy, and I no longer get sick multiple times a year. In June 2015, I graduated summa cum laude as a Doctor of Chiropractic. I am now the owner of Imagine Family Chiropractic and am proudly serving Marietta and the East Cobb area.
